My birthday presents post.

I realise that I'm getting rather lazy with this blog, hehe, am mainly posting pictures with short captions instead of writing like I used to. haha. Anyway, here's a post about the presents I received on my birthday. I'm not big on gifts, as in, it does not really matter to me, for really, it's the thought that counts! But these gifts really warmed my heart!

i feel like a currypuff filled with mashed potatoes egg curry almost to the brim and someone is twisting the pastry folding me in it's really squashy and squeezy and im going to explode

okay that's just some creative nonsense from me -- i'm just really busy, overflowing with work to do, have cancelled all the private music lessons for next week because there is so much to do, so little time to do it. and i seem to be taking on more, and not less commitments, but Lord, You're here so let me lean on You.

travelling woes

Travelling all around the island is seriously tiring business (see today's travel schedule below), thank goodness I opted out of BEDOK at the last minute, and the dear boy came to pick me up at AMK and sent me home. Why did I have to go to those places, you might ask, and the answer is: social work visits for my social work module. I don't regret going, because I learnt alot while I was there; except that these places are so far away, and I had to really rush from each place to the other. Finally skipped cellgroup at Bedok and came home to rest. That means I only travelled to 2 places--sounds simple enough, but if you look at the MRT map you might be able to feel some of my pain!

Anyway, that's all over, and I'm back home. :)

Haha yes I've started blogging again.

I absolutely love festivals, and so I'm really enjoying CNY, and appreciating the much-needed break from the whirl of things. Here's a really ecclectic mix of photos!

my new year's resolution

ask me what my new year's resolution is and i will tell you, very seriously, that it is--not to be late. It's stressful being late, it's probably not a very good habit to have, and i think there will be dire consequences if i'm always late. sigh. i've been late for many things this new year--because classes all begin very early this semester, and so does work on sundays. I care more about being punctual for work, since when i was late, the staff and students all looked rather unhappy and hostile--i hope it was my imagination--and i had a rather sad day because i kept reproaching myself. Ah! well.

and to tie in with my new year's resolution, let me present to you, The Persistence of Memory by Salvatore Dali (1931). I came across it in an art history class which I am currently taking. The class is wonderful, absolutely exciting and I know I'm going to enjoy it, even though we've only had one class thus far, haha. It was a really expensive module (911 points!) but I'm really willing to go all out for what I'm interested in! haha. Anyway, I love this painting because it captures the mutability of time in such a refreshing, beautiful way.

I had a beautiful Christmas and New Year. The holidays have passed all too fast, but I enjoyed myself. People ask me, 'So what have you been doing?' And I say, 'Meeting up with friends!' and they laugh. It's true, though. I met up with those who were close to me, and I wish I had more time; for I had less time for some, or no time at all for others. I even visited grandma with my brother and my cousins--yes, Hannah, we went! It was great. Amazingly, it's always the company that counts; and Old Maid, Donkey and Snap (such old school stuff!) took up most of our time while we were there. I miss my sister--there was a big flurry of activity recently because we were all busy trying to get the stuff that she needs, and until now I don't think she has received the package we sent last week. But time really flies, and I'll see you soon Hannah, real soon. :)

So it's all smiles for me now, until school begins, which I'm dreading with all my heart--I can't help it. puh. But I'm so glad I know you all--danceybee, durian, belle, candice, tiramisu, mr stripes--here's my love, with all my heart. You guys mean the world to me :)

It's in the air. Christmas is in the air. I'm much much happier now that the exams are over. :) This week has been a little hectic, believe it or not, even without school or exams. It's the Christmas shopping--really, it's easier said than done, as I've said to myself countless times this week.

I still can't quite figure out how to put the photos in together with my posts, because I want to put various photos with various paragraphs--how does that work? Mango-Belle, don't laugh at me. So, my photos will follow in a separate post. :) My dad bought me a new phone and a new camera--I'm thrilled. Am entirely in the festive mood.

I still have a few more dinners to attend, and quite a few more presents to buy. And there's still so much I want to do. Anything is better than mugging though!

waiting till the 4th of December!

exams arent as scary as i remembered, at least not this semester, or am i being too slack. studying lit is a curious thing, for you can really enjoy yourself if you're reading something which suits your taste. re-reading one of my novels took me about 12 hours, inclusive of lunch and dinner in between. isn't that rather time-consuming! that is why, im worried sometimes.

haha. well, im not doing too bad, am still happy despite studying, it's only the time factor which worries me. little things now brighten up my day; and i mean, really little things--buying a new notebook for instance. or reading the ikea catalogue, with all its lovely things. filling up a form for some lucky draw. i shan't tell you the others. what an embarassment. but these minor things offer something in the way of amusement because i cant afford the time to go out because i have to mug.

christmas is coming, and i miss my sister, wishing she could be home for christmas too. but spain is a lovely place, do go, take many pics, and tell me all about it. :)

i am content, i think. just a little too busy for my liking. :)
